(APP):Former Prime Minister, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Thursday said Pakistan did not want war as it was not the solution of any issue.
Talking to media persons here, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said both the countries are nuclear powers which could not afford war and stressed that dialogue was the only solution to the issues between India and Pakistan.
He stated that poverty, unemployment and backwardness were the common problems faced by Pakistan and India, adding that latter was creating war like environment just to divert the attention of the world from Indian atrocities in Indian Held Kashmir and for political gains in upcoming general elections in their country.
The former prime minister demanded that the United Nations should play its due role for de-escalating tension between Pakistan and India.
He also demanded the world to pressurize India on this issue adding that Pakistan always encouraged good ties with its neighbours.
PPP central leader underlined the need of unity among all political parties in the current situation.
He extolled the Pakistan armed forces for shooting down two Indian jets who violated Pakistan Airspace on Wednesday.
