A seminar titled ‘Power of her’ was organised by CEO Club Pakistan & management to celebrate International women’s day. 100 plus high- profile women attended the event.
There was a list of successful women from different fields who were invited as an Inspirational Speakers.
Chief Guest Mrs. Parveen Sarwar, Vice Chair Person Sarwar Foundation, Founder of Hunargah & spouse of Governor Of Punjab, Ch. M. Sarwar graced the event as chief guest.
On the occasion Perveen Sarwar said: “We need to change the attitude and behaviour of the society if women want to excel. She said that women’s role is not limited to home but she is the leader as she brings up the future generations.”
The seminar celebrated the theme of this year’s Women’s Day which was ‘Balance for better’, with the acknowledgement of growing global movement of advocacy, inclusion and supporting surrounding gender parity and encouraging people to continue the vocal fight for balance.
The objective of the seminar was to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women in our society.
On the occasion, Journalist, Designer and Social rights activist, Sarah Gandapur said: “Women’s day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and determination by ordinary women who have played extraordinary role in the community.”
She continued: “Islam has been an exemplary religion which gave rights to women, in every possible way- whether it was right to choose a partner for marraige, right to divorce, security in a marraige, property laws or respect as a woman in society. It’s unfortunate that we have forgotten all our teachings and hence the rise of crimes against women, gender inequality and suppression of women has arisen.”
Rizwana Ghazanfar said: “This seminar is a tribute to all the women in our society. Pakistani women have won applauds in all sphere of life despite all the obstacles in their way. We have to utilize the abilities of women for the betterment of the country.”
PTI, MPA Saadia Sohail Rana said, “Being a woman, she believes that all women deserve the right to be there own person and that they should be given an equal chance to thriev in any field.”
She believes that she made it to this position because of the passion and determination to bring a change in her country and she achieved all that on her own with support of the men in her life and a leader who is also a man.”
PTI, Women wing central leader, Mehnaz Rafi, Journalist Ayesha Nasir, Artist Sahar Noon, NGO Mashal- E- Hira, Sabahat Bukhari, Saima Murtaza and many women from all segments of life participated in the event.
And to conclude the event the Mr. Aijaz Nisar, Founder & President, CEO Club Pakistan & Management House said, ” The purpose of holding this event was to highlight & acknowledge the contributions made by women in our society.”
The event ended on a positive note that when such days as The International Women’s Day are celebrated, It reinforces the fact that women are stronger together.
