PCB to pay Pitbull $0.7 million for 10-minute performance

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will spend millions of rupees at the opening ceremony of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), in particular on the performance of Pitbull’s 10 minutes.

According to cricketpakistan.com, the 38-year-old American rapper would perform for only 10 minutes but in return, the board is paying him a hefty sum of Rs100 million (US $0.7 million).

The massive payment includes all expenses of his crew as well.

Some franchises have raised questions about paying the singer such a large amount for only a few minutes. They suggested that the board should invite local artists, because it is the league of Pakistan itself.

The ruling cricket countered the argument by saying that “it needs a global audience to be invited to the opening ceremony. ”

Other performers include Euro-Carribean Boney M, singer-turned actor Fawad Khan, Young Desi, Aima Baig ‘s famous coke studio and Shuja Haider, the famous composer.

After the ceremony, Islamabad United, the defending champions, will play the first match against Lahore Qalandar.
