Aspiring photographer Syed Muzammil, 19, murdered Mansi Dixit, a 20-year-old aspiring model, at his home in Andheri on 15 October last year, because she refused to have sex with him, according to the Bangur Nagar police charges sheet.
According to the police, Muzammil had known and found Dixit attractive for a couple of days.
“I called her on a photo shooting pretext and asked her to have sex with her. When she refused, I struck her with a wooden stool on her head, “Muzammil said during her interrogation to the police.
When she was unconscious, the accused molest her and tried to rape her according to the indictment sheet. He then strangled her with a rope and a lace, the police said. The police collected samples of swabs and semen from the clothing of Muzammil.
The post-mortem report indicates that an abrasion has been found in the private parts of Dixit.
Then Muzammil stuffed his body in a bag and reserved a cab. When the driver asked why the bag was so heavy, the ride was stopped. “He said he was riding four people and his brother had booked two Xylos, “said the cab driver in his statement.

The driver called the police and they found the body of Dixit with a rope around the neck. Muzammil was arrested from his apartment in Oshiwara.
His family said that Muzammil had come from Hyderabad to Mumbai to visit a distressed relative one day before the incident.
The police also recorded statements made by two other women who were approached by Muzammil to click on their pictures.
