Thousands of women are participating in the “Aurat March” across Pakistan to mark International Women’s day.
Last year, the first Aurat March took place in Karachi, this time the rally was extended to include more countries including Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Larkana and Hyderabad.
Prior to the Aurat March 2019, people on Twitter posted their reasons to attend the event under the hashtag #WhyIMarch.
Aurat March 2019 organizers also shared guidance on where participants could find help desk, what do you in case of an emergency and how the event and its management had a ” harrassment and violence zero tolerance policy.”
Bring solidarity for other struggles, so we can collectively raise our voice against oppression and injustice,” they urged.
A guide to digital safety, in case of cyber harassment during or post-Aurat March, was also shared for the convenience of the activists and supporters.
