Hobbies for a healthy lifestyle

Do you ever feel like you are just existing? That time is just passing by, and that nothing productive is coming out of it? Or perhaps you are filled with a lazy restless feeling?

Well – you are not alone. People have been feeling this since quarantine became a part of lives and we had to be restricted from our usual routines and be restricted to our homes and rooms.

It has been a difficult time for most of us, and we have had to come to terms with our own problems and think about the future.

We also found the need to do something to keep us busy and healthy.

Healthy activities are important for both physical and mental health, and as the health crisis around the world continues this is something we should all practice as a society.

So here are some healthy hobbies to look into. You don’t have to do all of them, or be an expert but it helps to be stay active and deal with stress.

  1. Cooking/Baking
    This is obviously stressful if it’s for a party, and with a time limit, but cooking and getting involved with food is one of the healthiest activities you can get into. It will help you relax and feel more connected about nutrition and eating mindfully.
    You can experiment with different recipes and make concoctions of your own, plus you get to eat what you make. If you can cook for yourself , it’s amazing for your health in general and saves a lot of money.
    People also talk about how baking helps them relax. You just need to be patient with this skill, because it takes trial and error to get good at it.
  2. Art
    This can be anything for sketching, painting, sculpting, graphic designing or arts and crafts. Picking one and sticking to it helps because it saves time and money, as art supplies can be a bit costly but the benefits pay off.
    Practicing art helps you reflect, relax and be more mindful and attentive of your surroundings. It’s great for developing cognitive ability and feeling better after your artwork is done.
  3. Dancing
    Unlike regular exercise people tend to enjoy dancing a lot more, and feel more energized after a session. Dancing is great for weaight lose, weight maintenance, relaxing and staying in shape.
    People who dance are more confident and have the best abs, and of course they have all the health benefits of staying active and happy.
    Dancing is also very cultural around the world – so it would be great to take a khatak dance class to keep that culture alive.
  4. Yoga
    Yoga is amazing for physical ability and mindfulness. You just need a little space for it and can be transformed and transported into a better sense of being. So less stress, better health and a feeling of freedom.
  5. Writing

Both writing and reading are excellent activities for the mind, and they help develop a better mentality and personality. It feels with releasing stress and learning interesting things and keeping your cognitive and critical thinking up and active.
Remember intelligence is sexy.

  1. Social Work
    If what you are looking for is an activity for the soul, it might be a good idea to get involved with something you believe greatly about. Get involved in animal rights, spread news about problems in your community, and hold meetings.
    This will help you meet more people, develop leadership skills and learn how to get things done.

For all of these I might help to make a journal or a social media account to keep track of your progress and make friends who are on a similar journey.
