The Citizens Foundation (TCF) launched a video on Children’s Day to highlight the disruption caused by the flood crisis for 3.5 million children in Pakistan, putting them at a higher risk of dropping out of school.

The video was part of the organisation’s “Learning Must Not Stop” campaign that advocates for the education of children amid the flood crisis.

Given that Pakistan was already recovering from the impact of COVID-19, an additional crisis in the form of the devastating floods has placed children at higher risk of dropping out of school.

To address the threat to children’s education, the organisation launched the ‘Learning Must Not Stop’ campaign that encourages supporters to help bring flood-affected children back to school.

Under this campaign a video was launched that emphasises how vulnerable children are disproportionately impacted by crises, particularly in terms of education.

It showcases the rise in displacement, early marriages, and child labour which are all factors that put children at risk of permanently dropping out of school.

By raising awareness about this emerging issue, TCF highlights the need for social action that safeguards the education of children from less privileged communities.

TCF has initiated efforts to bring flood-affected children back to school.

The organisation is preventing school dropouts by engaging families through community visits, addressing learning loss through remediation, and prioritising social-emotional well-being to support flood-affected children.
